James Gannon a Boy Scout from Troop 819 and a student at CT State Asnuntuck refurbished and created two United States maps at area elementary schools as his Eagle Scout Project. The Rotary Club of Enfield assisted by making a $500 donation toward paint and materials needed for the project.
James is a former student at Crandall. Photo above shows James (third from left) at the Prudence Crandall location with from left to right Principal at Prudence Crandall Andrew Duperre; James' 5th grade teacher Sheree Winans; James; Rotary Club of Enfield President Julie Cotnoir; Rotary Cub of Enfield Community Service Director Joe Mueller and Rotarians Rich Tkacz and Gregory Mark.

The photo below shows the map at Prudence Crandall before the refurbishment and how James painted the new map over the rough surface.

The second map (seen below) was done on a blank canvas/pavement at Eli Whitney School. James had to create the map by using an intricate stencil and then complete the painting.
James will be honored with a special ceremony in Enfield in recognition of his earning this distinct Boy Scout honor.

The Rotary Club of Enfield was proud to help with the project.
